Douglas & Gordon wanted to make a splash and do something different to energise their brand in a stilted marketplace. We conceived, scripted and shot a mock-documentary, showcasing the 'worst estate agents ever' – even going so far as to seed 'leaked' footage to national press. The results were impressive, fooling The Sun, The Daily Mail and the Times among others.

'Reality' content

A second video followed the first 'leak', preceded by a series of episodic 'seed' vignettes of a minute each. Douglas & Gordon were good sports, even going so far as to put fake staff contacts on their website for our fictional estate agents, James and Charlotte. Unsurprisingly neither were available for comment when the press reached out.


The videos were all filmed over five days across Douglas & Gordon's offices, and some of their actual rental properties. An additional day in a West London pub completed the shoot. Douglas & Gordon staff were drafted in throughout to interact with our actors.

The reveal

A reveal video gained national coverage once more as Douglas & Gordon owned up to their industry trolling.
